'Arsenic and Old Lace' coming to Avo

VISTA — Director Randall Hickman will present “Arsenic and Old Lace” at Vista’s Avo Playhouse, 303 Main Street, October 16-25.

“Arsenic and Old Lace” is set in 1940s Brooklyn. The story takes place in the palatial two-story Victorian home of Abby and Martha Brewster, two elderly spinsters who have developed a very bad habit: they poison lonely old men and bury their bodies in the cellar.

Hickman calls the show “a perfect show for Halloween,” saying, “We don’t ‘trick or treat’ anymore, but there’s nothing that says we can’t indulge in a little murder, madness and mayhem.”
