Angel Society presents donations

FALLBROOK — The philanthropy committee of the Fallbrook Angel Society suggested the following charitable donations and they were approved by board members of the organization at its September meeting:

Fallbrook High School Special Education Asperger’s Syndrome Support Center, $3,000

Fallbrook High School cheerleading team, $500

• People to People free employment service, $1,000

• Save Our Forest program, involving students from three local schools to root and care for trees and plants, $3,000

• Andrew Terselic of Boy Scout Troop 789 Camp Pendleton for Eagle Scout project involving the building of benches at a community garden, $300

Following the September meeting, members of the Angel Society assisted with mailing directories to the 545 members of the Angel Society. This is a significant increase from the 150 members who joined in 1978, when former members of Fallbrook Chapter of Children’s Home Society founded the Angel Society of Fallbrook.

Charitable funds are generated through membership, donations and net profits from sales at the Angel Thrift Shop.

The Angels’ Attic, the upstairs, upscale area, may be visited during shop hours. It features teen formals, accessories, cruise wear, wedding attire, holiday costumes, treasures, jewelry and more.

The shop is located at 1002 South Main and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
