Girls' volleyball defeats San Pasqual

On October 7, the Fallbrook varsity girls’ volleyball team hosted the San Pasqual Eagles. Both teams played with high intensity, keeping the fans on the edge of their seats throughout the game. The Warriors won 3-2 in a thrilling fashion.

In the first set, Fallbrook showed extraordinary skills, both defensively and offensively. The Warriors quickly jumped out to an early lead. However, the Eagles stayed within reach. Fallbrook maintained their lead to win the first set 25-23.

The Warriors took complete control in the second set. The explosiveness of Sha’Dare McNeal and Erica Wilson could not be stopped. Fallbrook won the second set with a score of 25-10.

The Warriors seemed to have taken the air out of the fluttering Eagles. However, San Pasqual proved otherwise. In what could have been the last set of the night, they could not have wished for a better result. The Eagles stayed alive with a 25-21 win to force another set.

The Eagles, with their newfound determination, made the fourth set a nail-biter. San Pasqual played from behind for most of the set. However, they fought back and tied the Warriors at 25. The lead changed twice before the Eagles stunned Fallbrook 29-27 to force a final fifth set.

Fallbrook regained their composure and sustained a comfortable lead throughout the final set. San Pasqual could not keep up with the Warriors’ fast-paced offense. The Eagles were finally defeated 15-8.

“I think we played pretty well overall,” said Sha’Dare. “I think we have a lot to do in practice to clean up some of the things we didn’t do today.”

Later, Coach Peter Peng added, “If we cut down our unforced errors, we are a pretty good team. Once we do that, we will play a lot more consistent ball.”
