Believe it

I still keep meeting people who do not realize how drastically our “Fallbrook Quality of Life” is being threatened by the proposed Liberty Quarry.

Not only will this proposed quarry be the largest open-pit mine in the US and be in operation for 75 years, its scar to the pristine wilderness where it is proposed will be as deep as the Empire State Building, one mile long and a quarter of a mile wide.

The daily traffic of trucks will be 1,400 trips in and out from the Rainbow on- and off-ramps on Interstate 15, which is about one truck per minute. The mine will sever the link for the wildlife needing to migrate between the Santa Ana and Palomar Mountain ranges and will pollute the air with deadly silicone dust from daily blasting.

The very valuable Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve owned and operated by San Diego State University and used as an international research center for gathering information on global warming, wild fires, air and water standards and wildlife will be totally impacted and unable to function.

Help save us from having this happen by voting for Bob Hamilton and Grey Frandsen, whose opponents have both accepted campaign funds from Granite Construction.

Also, vote for Michele Bain, Jean Dooley and Jackie Heyneman, who are running for the Fallbrook Community Planning Group.

These people oppose Liberty Quarry.
