Please vote 'no' on Prop. 2

If Proposition 2 passes this November, over the next five years we are going to see eggs from other states and Mexico imported into California.

Not only is the cost of eggs going to go up, making them less affordable to low-income Californians, but our consumers are going to be purchasing imported eggs that are not produced under California’s stringent standards. This proposition does not place restrictions on how imported eggs are produced outside of the state.

If Prop. 2 passes, California’s many egg producers will be going out of business and their employees will be out of work. Californians will be buying more expensive imported eggs that are not as safe. If you want to continue to have your local, affordable, fresh and safe California-grown eggs, vote “no” on Prop. 2.

If after reading this and visiting http://www.NoOnProp2.com and http://www.safecaliforniafood.org you are still not sure how to vote, please vote “no” because the proposition system is not the way to change farming practices. If this passes the only way to reverse the negative impact on California farmers and consumers is to pass another costly proposition to rectify Prop. 2’s unintended consequences.
