Elden Brown Shields

Elden Brown Shields, 89, passed away October 24, 2008, in Escondido. He was born November 28, 1918, in Masinasin, Alberta, Canada.

Elden graduated from Brigham Young University and LA College of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. He was a family physician. He was also an entrepreneur, fisherman and golfer who loved singing and baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jeannette Shields, Fallbrook; sister Barbara Davidson, Alberta; brothers Grant Shields, Alberta, Wallace Shields, Middleton, ID, and Russell Shields, Calabasas, CA; daughters Barbara Johnson, Cedar City, UT, and Marilyn Webber, La Crescenta, CA; son Dale Shields, Laguna Hills, CA; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Clyde and Emma Lulu Shields; brothers Leland, Clyde, Ned and Morris; and sister Lulu Daisy.

A funeral was held October 29 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fallbrook. Donations may be made in Elden’s name to the cause of your choice.

Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary handled the arrangements.
