Janet Ellen Rursch

Janet Ellen Rursch left her loving husband and family on October 21, 2008. She will be forever loved and greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, LaVelle (Rusty); brother Jim Schultz; sister Sharon Heal; children Patricia Rursch and Linda Davis (husband Mark); and five grandchildren.

Janet was born to Walton and Doris Schultz in Iowa City, IA, on July 28, 1936. She married Rusty on September 4, 1954, and they moved to California in June 1957; she had lived in Fallbrook for the past 20 years.

Janet was an active member in TOPS, the Quilt Guild and Rockhoppers walking club. She and her husband did sanctioned walks in all 50 states.

She was passionate about quilting and won multiple awards for her quilts. She was a dedicated volunteer to the community she loved and her church. She was a member of her choir and women’s groups. She was known by all for her generous spirit and unconditional love.

A celebration of her life will be held on November 6 at 2 p.m. at Fallbrook United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Janet Rursch Memorial Fund in care of Fallbrook United Methodist Church, 1844 Winterhaven Rd., Fallbrook, CA 92028.
