Legacy adds Lewis to board of directors

Legacy…The Community Foundation, serving North San Diego County charities and nonprofits through its donors, has announced the addition of Valley Center resident Bill Lewis as its newest board member. Legacy is honored to welcome Lewis, who will serve as grants chairman.

Born in Reading, PA, Lewis moved to Valley Center in November 1989 and has said he enjoys life in North San Diego County. He believes in the vision of community foundations and is excited about being involved in promoting philanthropy and developing charitable assets for community good.

With more than 25 years of experience in resource development for the advancement of a broad range of nonprofit organizations and institutions including hospitals, private schools, colleges and universities, Lewis has expertise in many areas that helped those charities grow.

He held the position of director of development at El Centro Regional Medical Center. As a result of his various achievements and success at that center, Lewis was awarded Outstanding Professional of the Year in 2003 by the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Lewis is a Certified Fundraising Executive and a member of the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

He is past president and current director of the North County Philanthropy Council, a former director of the Rotary Club of El Centro and a member of the Valley Center Rotary Club. He is also a director and strategic planning chair of the Valley Center Chamber of Commerce.

With his expertise in directing capitol, conducting development feasibility studies, audits and comprehensive development plan, marketing and public relations, grant writing and program planning, Lewis is a welcome addition to the Legacy family.

Many organizations in and around the Fallbrook area have received benefits through Legacy from people who have a heart. It is Legacy’s determination to help those nonprofits and the people they serve receive the support that that goodwill has inspired.

With that mission in the forefront, Legacy is proud to have dedicated, community-minded members on their board of directors to make that goal a reality.
