Marine found dead of self-inflicted gunshot wound

A Marine was found dead in his Fallbrook home after commiting suicide in the early morning hours of Friday, November 7.

Capt. Jonatan N. Keslerramirez, 34, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in his home on Paul Ann Court.

Keslerramirez was found in his bed by his mother, who called 911. The active duty Marine resided with his wife and mother at the house.

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton reports that Keslerramirez was a native of Nueces, Texas, and served as a ground supply officer with the Base’s Security Battalion. He enlisted in the Corps May 5, 1992, and accepted his commission on May 26, 2003. Keslerramirez deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Keslerramirez earned the following awards during his 16 years of service: the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
