Ruby D. Britton

Ruby D. Britton, born September 14, 1911, formerly a resident of Fallbrook, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008, in Corvallis, OR. She was the wife of the late John W. Britton and enjoyed traveling during his 32-year military career.

Born in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Bernice Lay (Hatfield) Tomer and William F. Tomer. Her personal interests included crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, reading, painting and traveling.

She was a member of the VFW Post 1924 Women’s Auxiliary and the First Christian Church in Fallbrook.

She is survived by son John W. Britton, Jr. of New Hampshire; daughter Bernice (Bunny) Maddox of Corvallis; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside on Friday, November 14, at 11:15 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Doctors Without Borders, PO Box 5022, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5022.
