Junior Midgets move on in playoffs

The Junior Midget Fallbrook Pop Warner team clinched the Palomar Conference Championship on November 1 in Poway. The Fallbrook Tribe had a remarkable undefeated season thanks to their outstanding head coach, Mark Thomas, and his very dedicated coaching staff.

The Junior Midgets showed up to beat the Temecula Mighty Grizzlies. It was a tied game through the fourth quarter with less than two minutes on the clock. As they prepared for overtime, Fallbrook Tribe’s Tucker Fleischmann caught an interception and took the ball into the end zone for a touchdown.

The Fallbrook Tribe also won the division title in 2006.

It was a quick celebration and back to work to prepare for the Western Conference Quarter Final game, held November 8 at Rancho Bernardo High School. The Tribe met the Ontario Raiders for another great game of football.

Quarterback Troy Welby started the Tribe off with a quarterback sneak and scored for the Tribe. The Raiders weren’t worried as they tied up the game. The Tribe defense pulled the line together and didn’t allow the Raiders another touchdown.

Fallbrook’s Aaron Botts caught an amazing pass thrown by Welby and took the ball for another Tribe touchdown. The Western Conference quarterfinal was swept up by the undaunted Fallbrook Tribe.

This group of boys works endlessly to perfect their game. It’s back to work to train for the semifinal game in Menifee. The Fallbrook Tribe wants to take this all the way to the nationals in Orlando next month.
