Christmas concert scheduled for Dec. 6

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Chorale is making preparations for their annual Christmas concert, which will be held on December 6 in the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts at 1 p.m., an hour earlier than usual.

This year, music lovers are encouraged to enjoy the two-hour concert and then make the short drive into the village to complete a fun-filled day at the annual Fallbrook Christmas Parade on Main Avenue.

This year’s concert will feature many familiar carols and holiday folk songs performed by the 40-voice group, under the direction of Art Blodgett, and introduce everyone to a few that are sure to become favorites, ranging in content from sacred to secular.

Concertgoers will hear a solo performance of “Christmas with You” from one of the Chorale’s charter members, Orolie Gubser, and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” from Jack Janzen, a relative newcomer to the group.

Duets, trios and quartets will also be featured as well as a delightful piano duet performed by the Chorale’s longtime accompanist, Jean Dixon, in partnership with Chorale member Rachel Eades.

The Chorale, which has been giving the gift of music to the Fallbrook community for more than 15 years, invites residents to immerse themselves in the holiday spirit this year as they present “It’s a Wonderful Christmas.”

Advance tickets may be purchased for $12 at Major Market or from any Chorale member. General admission tickets will be $15 when purchased at the door.

In keeping with the Chorale’s tradition, children under the age of 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. Active members of the Armed Forces and their immediate families are also admitted for no charge.
