Our nightmare is over but the worst is yet to come

For the last eight years we have had a complete lack of governance, a complete lack of regulation, a complete lack of direction. The captain and crew let the Ship of State drift while it floundered along from crisis to crisis, sinking slowly. Finally the alarmed people of the nation saw what was happening and swung into action. That nightmare of governance is now ending, but the worst is yet to come.

We have a new crew coming aboard, but are they too late? The economic crisis has not hit bottom yet. Millions more will lose jobs, their homes and their investments. The worst is yet to come. There will be a backlash in this country and we will be looking for a scapegoat. In this nation, the traditional scapegoats have been race and the latest ethnic group to come aboard. Those who engineered and those who supported the current crisis are already absolving themselves and pointing fingers at the new leadership even before they are sworn in.

It is for this reason that we must begin impeachment of those responsible for our current crisis, to hold accountable the guilty persons. The first to go should be Nancy Pelosi, who declared, “Impeachment is off the table.” If the guilty persons and parties acknowledge their guilty and complicity and join with the new America, we should be generous with reconciliation and forgiveness. If not, they should go to prison.

Will the culprits escape justice because Mr. Bush issues them all pardons?
