Volunteers make a difference

Fallbrook is known as a town that welcomes and hosts hundreds of hardworking volunteers. These volunteers perform many of the functions that paid employees might do in other locations. They are what help make this a wonderful place to live.

One such hardworking volunteer is Joe Spychaj, who is the treasurer of our Via Vista Road maintenance group.

The past few years the number of households using our rural road and the required repairs has seemed to increase considerably. Most of the work gets done, mostly because of the countless hours Joe (and his wife, Pat) put in on the phone, e-mails, regular mail and personal visits to our property owners and the increasingly expensive asphalt road contractors.

Without the efforts of people like Joe Spychaj, we would still be driving on bad gravel roads in many parts of Fallbrook. Thanks again, Joe.
