Auditions coming for "Cats"

The Fallbrook Players announce auditions for “Cats,” the Tony Award-winning musical that spent 21 years on Broadway playing to sold-out crowds.

Based on T.S. Eliot’s whimsical set of poems “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats,” this beloved Andrew Lloyd Webber musical tells the stories of the Jellicle tribe of cats.

Auditions will be held on Saturday and Sunday, January 3 and 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Ballet Society of North County, 325 North Brandon Road.

The director, multi-award-winning choreographer Allisan Whitman, says she is looking for a range of different talents: dancers, singer, dancers who sing, singers who dance and the triple threat.

“There are great parts in this show for lots of talented kids from ages 8 to 18,” she said.

Performances for this North County premiere of “Cats” will be at the Mission Theatre March 20-April 5.
