New library models on display

The Friends of the Fallbrook Library invite residents to view the mass models and drawings prepared by the four design/build team finalists vying to build Fallbrook’s new library. The models will be on view, anonymously, at the library December 5-9.

The library is at 124 South Mission Road. It is open Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 1 to 5 p.m., Monday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The models are not detail-oriented but rather show proportions, flow patterns and relationships of form, shapes and how light and shadows effect the proposed designs. They also have value in showing the footprint of the building and how it relates to the site.

A comments box will be available for residents’ input. This is another opportunity for residents to give input relative to their new library.

It is anticipated that the design/build team contract announcement will be made in February.
