Kingsnakes finish winning season

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Youth Soccer League (FYSL) U8 recreation soccer team Kingsnakes finished the season as Division Champions.

After losing their first game 0-4 to the second-place Copperheads, the eight-boy, five-girl team went on to finish league play with a record of 8-1-1. The team fought off a lot of hard challenges from the Copperheads, Vipers and Pythons.

There was a lot of improvement by all of the players in the league, according to U8 division coaches Dan Janikowski, Wade Rollins, Mike Zinninger and John Buehman.

The Kingsnakes also went on in postseason play by becoming the FYSL Tournament U8 Champions. Their record in tournament was 3-0-1.

The final game was against the Copperheads. Jake McBroom scored all three goals for the Kingsnakes. The defense was led by goalkeepers Monica Saltz and Evy Sanchez.

The comeback team of the season was the Pythons, who had a tournament record of 1-1-1.
