The Midget Chiefs cheer squad is composed of 17 Fallbrook and Bonsall students ages 11 to 14, including (not in order) Amanda Russell, Mariah Zizzo, Amanda Cunningham, Hannah Bergholz, Genna Cowley, Mckenna Boyer, Teresa Cortez, Sabrina Torres, Stephanie Nider, Courtney Arnold, Clarissa Perez, Cassandra Dehoog, Anna Vargas, Michelle Iniesta, Melissa Herrera, Aspen Komski and Maddie Nelson.
FALLBROOK — After taking first place at the Palomar Conference Cheer & Dance Competition on October 26, the Fallbrook Pop Warner Midget Chiefs cheer squad brought home another championship trophy with a first place finish at Wescon Regionals on Sunday, November 23, in Long Beach.
They competed against 12 squads from the Wescon region, which covers Hawaii, Southern California, Arizona and Southern Nevada.
Their first place finish earned them a bid to the National Championship at Disneyworld in Orlando December 8-12.
After months of hard work and intensive training, their focus now is on raising the $25,000 that they will need to get all 17 members of the squad, the coaches and chaperones to Florida.
