Jean Elizabeth St. Gean

Jean Elizabeth St. Gean was born September 21, 1920, in Alberta, Calgary. Jean passed peacefully in her home in north San Diego County on Wednesday, December 3, 2008.

Jean was a beloved educator who spent more than 50 years as a preschool teacher and owner and later as an elementary school teacher working for the Los Angeles Unified School District, as a teacher in Fairfax, VA, and the State of Washington.

Jean dedicated her life to the education of children, bringing learning to life through the production of student musicals. She felt strongly that music and dancing should be a part of all her students’ educational experiences. After she retired, Jean volunteered in a local elementary school.

Jean is survived by her children John Dennis Swan, Cheryl Marie Crapeoff and Laurie Michelle St. Gean; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held.
