Prepare for earthquake dangers

CAL FIRE reminds local residents that earthquakes are a common occurrence in Southern California. During an emergency such as an earthquake, residents’ survival may depend on how well prepared they are.

Planning ahead and discussing earthquake preparedness with family members is the best policy. A basic survival kit should include water, first aid supplies, food, portable radio, auxiliary lighting, auxiliary cooking devices, extra clothing and blankets all stored in a safe, accessible place.
