Fallbrook wins November cribbage match

On November 20 the Fallbrook Senior Center cribbage team won the November Senior Challenge. Fallbrook had 72 to Oceanside Senior Center’s 61 wins in the 38-player match.

Even though Fallbrook had six out of the top eight places and won the match, the high individual score was posted by Maria Herziger from Oceanside with 6 wins and 2 skunks. She started off the match with a roar as she almost double-skunked her opponent. She finished the match with her other skunk.

In second place was Fallbrook pegger Frank Cardiff with 6 wins, including one skunk. Sharon Fly, Glenrose Sheffel and Tom Bongard all had 5 wins with a skunk. The next three places also had 5 wins but no skunks: Ethel Williams, Mike Duffy and AlJean Simpson.

Oceanside’s Joanne Thompson won a $15 gift card donated by Albertsons on Oceanside Blvd. and a $10 gift card donated by CVS Pharmacy in Fallbrook.

The Senior Challenge is open to anyone who likes to play cribbage. For more information call Eileen Haworth at (760) 940-1475 or e-mail [email protected].
