Free sand, bags for area residents

FALLBROOK — In an effort to protect private property and the public infrastructure during the rainy season, the County of San Diego is providing free sand and bags for residents of the Fallbrook area.

They are now available at North County Fire’s Station Four at 4375 Pala Mesa Drive.

While the sand and bags are provided free of charge, residents are asked to provide their own shovels to load the sand.

Meanwhile, county road crews continue their year-round tasks of clearing and maintaining culverts and storm drains as well as other flood control systems.

Notice of any county road closures will be posted on the Department of Public Works Web site at http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov/dpw/roads/roadclose.html.
