Captain Richard "Red" Mundell

Captain Richard “Red” Mundell went to heaven to teach God how to drive a tugboat on December 24 2008. He had battled large cell lymphoma cancer with richtors transformation for the last three years. His oncologist, Dr Castro, said “Red and I are writing a new chapter in the book of cancer. He has lived well beyond the expectation that anyone could ever have. Many new discoveries have been found....thanks to Red.”

Born in Bisbee, AZ in 1938, he was 70 years old. He was a very respected, legendary tugboat captain for 45 years; a dear husband to his wife Cheri for 43 years; a supportive brother to his sister Elizabeth; the greatest father to his three sons Mike, Kelly, Sean & daughter Brooke for 42 years; a loving Pa Pa of 14 years to Devin, Ricky & Rochelle and an amazing friend to so many people in this world!

There will be a memorial celebration in his honor at the Fallbrook golf course country club on Saturday January 3, 2009.
