TAGI trio to perform in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook Music Society’s 31st season continues with the exciting young trio called TAGI, which will perform in the first concert of the Music Society’s Virtuoso Series.

This ensemble excels in the classical chamber repertoire but is also dedicated to promoting the music of our time; their unique instrumentation and extremely varied performance repertoire runs the range from the music of Brahms and Liszt to Kreisler, Gershwin and Joplin.

The concert will be held at the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 18.

TAGI artists’ exceptional individual talents (piano, clarinet and cello) are considered by many to be second to none and they have been acknowledged as respected contributors to the world’s classical music stage.

Cellist Sophie Shao is rapidly gaining international acclaim for her brilliant, mature interpretations of repertoire ranging from Bach and Beethoven to Crumb and Wilson.

An inspiring soloist and ensemble partner, the sensational Russian-born pianist Tatiana Goncharova has performed throughout the United States, South America, Europe and Asia.

Exhilarating virtuosity and imagination that complement his gracious sense of style and excellent musical personality has become a trademark for the recent Winner of Avery Fisher Career Grant, clarinetist Igor Begelman.

Individually, the artists have studied at the Juilliard School, Curtis Institute, Yale College and the Manhattan School of Music.

They also hold teaching positions at the Manhattan School of Music, Bard College Conservatory of Music, Princeton University, North Carolina School of the Arts, Pinchas Zukerman Institute in Canada, Sarah Lawrence College and the Bowdoin Festival in Maine.
