Poinsettias delight seniors

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Senior Center Christmas party was a huge success with approximately 100 seniors attending the December 18 affair.

The seniors arrived at the auditorium decorated with huge poinsettias donated by Zalinda Farms. Tables with red and green tablecloths, white placemats and smaller plants were striking in their simplicity. A huge decorated tree filled one corner of the room.

A ham dinner with sides of scalloped potatoes, veggies, salad and rolls were served to the excited attendees.

Dave Soto, master of ceremonies, and wife Kerry entertained with Christmas songs. The appearance of 20 members of the Fallbrook Chorale, arranged by member Doris Ham, was a perfect ending to an afternoon of fun and fellowship.

Concluding the afternoon was the drawing for door prizes. The poinsettia winners gleefully accepted their plants. Other prizes were rocking horse ornaments and dressy scarves knit by member Dee Munoz.

The dinner was prepared by Nancy Hill, Ray Rivera and Dee Munoz and served by members of the board. Trudy Oertle greeted guests and passed out raffle tickets. Director Irene Flores also assisted with arrangements.
