AMVETS donation stolen

After cleaning out a few closets after Christmas, I called AMVETS to schedule a pickup of our unwanted household items.

We placed the items in bags, marked them for pickup as directed and left them at the bottom of our driveway on the morning of our scheduled pickup.

The phone rang later that day. It was the driver for AMVETS looking for our donations.

My husband had told him the marked bags were there at the base of the drive. The driver said there was nothing there! Someone had stolen our donation bags from our driveway.

I hope whoever took the items really needed them. But my advice is to deliver your donation in person to ensure that the intended recipient receives it.
