NCFPD seeks volunteers

FALLBROOK — North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) has an exciting opportunity for local citizens. Recently, the position of Fire Corps Administrative Volunteer was established and NCFPD is now seeking applicants to fill the 10 inaugural positions.

There are no age restrictions, although volunteers must be able to fill four-hour shifts, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, four times during the course of a month.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, complete the application and interview process and successfully complete a series of screenings.

Those accepted will attend a mandatory orientation academy which will focus on NCFPD policies, procedures and terminology.

The administrative volunteers will assist with customer service by answering phones, working the front counter and providing assistance to the Fire Prevention Bureau.

“We know there are many citizens from within our community who have unique skills and abilities and are ready, willing and able to provide this assistance,” says Fire Chief Bill Metcalf.

The filing deadline for this position is February 6 at 4 p.m.
