Prugh to teach workshop in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook Film Factory will host a workshop taught by Jeff Prugh entitled “The Journalism of Film” on Saturday, January 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Fallbrook School of the Arts, 310 East Alvarado.

Prugh, an author and semi-retired journalist who worked for the Los Angeles Times for 21 years, feels filmmaking may be the last, best hope of authentic storytelling.

He is expected to explain how many in the filmmaking media violate public trust by leaving millions of readers, viewers and consumers of news misinformed or uninformed.

Prugh promotes good journalistic practices for makers of documentaries and feature films. He has served as a consultant to ABC News, Dateline NBC and Court TV and is currently working on his fifth book.

The workshop is free for Film Factory members, $10 for the general public and $5 for students. To register, visit
