Classes to feature senior care issues

FALLBROOK — Innovative Healthcare Consultants, Inc. at 557 East Alvarado Street will begin monthly classes to inform the public on issues related to senior care.

This includes managing care for a spouse or family member or being a member of the over-65 community oneself.

The number of Americans over 65 is expected to exceed 71 million by 2030 and demand is growing for aging experts in every field, from law to geriatric care to relocation.

But many family members don’t know how, or live too far away, to find and manage help for aging parents or relatives. That’s where geriatric care managers come in.

All classes will be the last Wednesday of the month from 2 to 3 p.m.

The first class, held January 28, will be “Life is Full of Choices: Learn what geriatric care management is and how the right choices can improve your quality of life.”

The February 25 class will be discussing “Things Aren’t Always What They Seem.” Learn about early cognitive impairment and what makes a difference.

The March 25 class will talk about “Preventing Falls in the Elderly.”

The classes are free but interested people should register by calling (760) 731-1334 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
