Movie theater experience disappointing

This weekend I took my children to the local movie theater. Our experience was anything but pleasant. I thought that maybe if I shared my experience with others, then the management might care to make some changes.

There were a handful of couples and a rather large amount of young teens in attendance. The movie started off with a warm welcome from the staff and continued with a myriad of texting, moving, giggling and standing all about the theater.

At first I figured that this was normal teen behavior and would last several minutes. Apparently I was wrong. It lasted the entire length of the film.

I politely went and talked to the management about the situation and he agreed that it was rude behavior and would check on it. He did come into the theater and witnessed kids running into seats and reading messages all over the brightly lit cell phone screens but did nothing about it.

A while later, another patron left to complain; once again the manager appeared in the theater. Apparently his presence and lack of words wasn’t enough to stop the kids from their rude behavior.

Unfortunately, I will no longer spend my money at our local movie theater to watch what I feel is rude behavior. It’s my hope that parents dropping their children off to “watch a movie” will discuss courteous behavior with them prior.
