RE: 'FPUD's trucking of paper doesn't meet health law' [Village News, 1/8/09]

Archie McPhee continues to make factually incorrect statements about Orange Grove Power Plants (OG) of Fallbrook Public Utility District’s (FPUD) recycled water in the local press.

OG uses FPUD’s recycled water in accordance with CEC requirements that potable water not be used for power plant cooling.

Mr. McPhee, however, continues to insist that FPUD’s recycled water does not meet all applicable health standards. The same water that McPhee states is not suitable for power plant cooling is suitable for Fallbrook’s parks, playing fields and nurseries.

Despite evidence presented by FPUD, Orange Grove and the CEC’s own staff, Mr. McPhee fails to acknowledge the fact that the transportation and use of FPUD’s recycled water for the power plant’s cooling requirements is specifically encouraged by adopted state policy and an appropriate and safe use of recycled water.
