We aren't welcome in the Village Square

For several years we and our friends have been gathering in the Village Square on Saturday afternoons to play music, joined by whoever else wished to join in, or listen while they enjoyed their ice cream, coffee or took a break from shopping. We welcomed everyone to take part but especially enjoyed watching the children dance; we would often help them play an instrument and join in.

Contrary to what many people think, the square is not a public park. It is the property of the Fallbrook Village Association, although the public donated money to help pay for it. We have been informed by them that we are no longer welcome to use the square as we have been doing, as has the drum circle that gathered there once a month.

Many communities encourage this type of activity as a way to bring people downtown and maybe stay a little longer. We felt that we were an asset to the community, and in a small way, helping to do just that.

So, for all who have joined us in playing music or just came to listen and watch, we are sorry that we will no longer be there. If anyone is aware of, or has available, a venue that we would be welcome to use, please contact us; we sure would appreciate it. Thank you. We are in the phone book.
