Garden Club offers scholarships to eligible students

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Garden Club Scholarship Committee is seeking applicants for scholarships of $1,000 or more.

Any Fallbrook High School graduating senior or a college student from the local area who might be interested can contact the scholarship committee chair, Audrey Kelm, at (760) 723-9342 for an application.

The selection(s) shall be based on character, scholarship, aptitude, ability to succeed, financial need and approval by the club board.

Applicants must be planning a career in agriculture, botany, conservation, entomology, environmental studies, floriculture, forestry, horticulture, landscape architecture, plant biology, plant genetics, urban planning or a related field.

They may select the college or university of their choice provided there is a recognized department in one of these fields.

The scholarship money will be sent directly to the selected institution. Completed applications must be received no later than March 15.
