'Music from the Heart' to benefit Food Pantry

FALLBROOK — On Sunday, February 22, at 2 p.m., a benefit concert entitled “Music from the Heart” will be presented as a fundraiser for the Fallbrook Food Pantry at Fallbrook United Methodist Church.

The concert will include popular, classical and jazz music by local and regional artists including the Fallbrook Chorale, vocalist Robin Adler with Dave Blackburn, national recording artist/jazz flutist Bradley Leighton, Gospel Hall of Fame-honored group the Johnson Family Quartet, jazz guitarist Jimmy Patton, vocal duo Seventh Heaven and more.

At a reception following the concert, guests can greet the artists and enjoy refreshments.

All artists have donated their time to support the Food Pantry’s efforts to raise operating funds, which have been severely limited due to reductions in state/federal funding, the 2007 fires which displaced more than 200 Fallbrook residents and a declining economy which continues to increase the number of families seeking the Pantry’s services.

The Fallbrook Food Pantry serves the regions of Fallbrook, Bonsall, Rainbow and De Luz, providing emergency and weekly food, clothing, comprehensive referrals for medical and other basic assistance along with care and encouragement to more than 70,000 adults and children each year. The majority of recipients are children.

The concert is being offered for a freewill offering and a silent auction is planned to raise funds as well. In addition, attendees are encouraged to bring donations of canned goods for the Pantry.

Families with children are welcome to attend and nursery care will be provided for children age 3 and under.
