Heart for Africa fundraiser a success

On Saturday, January 31, Christ the King Lutheran Church had a benefit dinner to support the high school students going on a short-term missions trip to Kenya in July. It was a special night, with some heart-touching videos and two wonderful speakers.

Janine Maxwell, author of “It’s Not Okay With Me,” gave her testimony and challenged more people to help. David Kerioke, a Kenyan orphan, gave his amazing testimony of living life on the streets. All in all, the night was amazing.

It was made possible because of all those who worked hard all day. The food, the decorations, the settings, the donations and the time proved, once again, that we live in a special town with great people of faith. Thank you.
