FALLBROOK — Three Fallbrook High School seniors brought home four medals from the San Diego County Academic Decathlon held at Sweetwater High School Saturday, February 7.
Matthew Chester, Olivia Edgar and Chris Mora were the big winners from the nine-student team.
Edgar led the way with two medals: a silver in Language and Literature and a bronze in Music. Chester won a bronze in Math and Mora a silver in Essay. Mora was also the team’s highest overall scorer.
The Academic Decathlon requires teams to compete in 10 different academic areas with a new theme each year. This year the theme was Latin America with a particular emphasis on Mexico in some subject areas.
Teachers Debbie Berg, Dave Evans and Tracy Markham are the team coaches.
