Remembering Mary Jane Pfeil

It is just one week ago, February 16, that I listened to Mary Jane Pfeil once again speak up for the community of Fallbrook at the Fallbrook Community Planning Group meeting. Today the news came of her passing. What an amazing woman! She is one who must be remembered for her love of Fallbrook.

She had been sitting on the Fallbrook Community Planning Group for over 20 years until this past November election when she decided not to run again. She had also been on the Land Use subcommittee, Design & Review, and the Circulation Committee. She didn’t totally retire and again volunteered this year for vital committees. Her knowledge of Fallbrook history, vivid memory of proposals that had been submitted to the FCPG many years passed always amazed.

The strength and vitality of Mary Jane just last week makes one realize that life can end too abruptly. Bravo for Mary Jane, fighting for the good of Fallbrook to the very end.
