Sullivan art contest brings out talent

BONSALL — The Seventh Annual Library Art Contest was held recently at Sullivan Middle School. This year’s theme was to create a book cover featuring an historical event or person. The entries could be any size and in any medium.

The student body was invited to vote for their favorite entry and Sullivan teachers Melissa Gregg, Gordon Ray and Leslie Burgener juried the entries anonymously using a point system and also chose their favorites.

Ribbons and cash prizes were awarded at a pizza luncheon. The artwork is on display in Sullivan Library.

The contest was created by librarian Diane Kennedy to encourage and celebrate the artistic creativity of Sullivan students.

Sullivan’s Parents-Teachers-Students Association sponsored the event.
