Arts in the Park planned for April 26

FALLBROOK — Arts in the Park, sponsored by Rally for Children and Fallbrook Elementary School District, will be held on Sunday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Live Oak Park.

Arts in the Park is free to all area children and their parents, a gift to the community with donations of money, time, supplies and services from many individuals and groups throughout Fallbrook.

There will be numerous activities at the park which will provide hands-on exposure to music, drama, dance, crafts, science and artworks to local children and their parents. This is a wonderful opportunity for all to explore the arts and enjoy different forms of creativity.

For example, a child can get his face painted, design and decorate a paper hat and mask and then have it preserved at the quickie portrait venue. He can play instruments at the petting zoo, create a paper bag puppet or do stone sculpting.

Along the way he might make a walking stick, design a house at the woodworking booth and visit other activities throughout the park.

At the band shell, there will be entertainment throughout the day by local artists. To enhance the hands-on activities, professionals in various art forms will be on hand to demonstrate their craft and entertain.

Organizers are presently in the planning stages for this event and are seeking individuals and community groups who would like to be involved.
