Pala Mesa Resort to host Italian wine dinner and art display

SAN DIEGO — Pala Mesa Resort will pair the wines of Italy with four courses of Italian cuisine on March 26 for a special dinner open to the public.

Adding to the ambiance, local artists Karen Walkup and MollyVarese will have their artwork on display and for purchase.

Wines from the Italian winery Gianni Zonin Vineyards will be paired with the culinary creations of Chef Sean Sullivan of Pala Mesa Resort’s AquaTerra Restaurant.

Tray-passed hors d’oeuvres will be followed by four courses including homemade gnocchi, spicy calamari salad, braised pork spareribs and warm ricotta tart with gorgonzola gelato.

A representative from Gianni Zonin Vineyards and Chef Sullivan will educate guests on the wines, food and pairings. After the dinner, guests will have the opportunity to purchase the wines at a discounted price.

In support of the local art community, Pala Mesa Resort will continue to showcase the work of local artists in the lobby and AquaTerra dining room through the coming months.

For cost and reservations, call (760) 731-6805. Pala Mesa Resort is located at 2001 Old Highway 395.
