Irish Hooley planned in Fallbrook , Options include golf tourney, lively dinner with entertainment

On St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday, March 17, Fallbrook residents will have an opportunity to enjoy an Irish Hooley, a lively celebration that, in this case, includes a golf tournament with contests, a buffet dinner, and live entertainment.

“This is perfect for those looking for something to do for St. Patrick’s Day,” said Judee Smith of the Fallbrook Area Visitor’s Bureau, the organization hosting the event.

The Hooley event will take place at Fallbrook Golf Club and guests have the option of purchasing a combination ticket that includes the golf tournament and dinner ($70 in advance/$75 at door), or just a dinner party ticket ($35 in advance/$40 at door).

The nine-hole golf tournament will begin at 2 p.m. with a shot-gun start.

“There will be contests like closest to the pin and longest drive,” Smith said. “In addition, a putting contest will be held.

After the golf tournament, enjoy a drink and an all-you-can-eat Irish buffet featuring corned beef and cabbage, parsley potatoes, vegetables, salad bar, side salads, rolls and butter, and an Irish dessert from 6 to 8 p.m.

Live entertainment will be provided by the Stonehouse Band, Smith said, and there will be plenty of room for dancing!

For those wishing to show their true Irish spirit and willing to dress up like an Irish lad or lass, there will be prizes for the best dressed.

Raffle opportunities will provide another way for guests to win. Tickets will be drawn for attractive prize baskets!

All tickets will be held in will call. Order tickets online at http://www.findfallbrook.com or by calling (760) 451-3282. All proceeds from this event will benefit Fallbrook tourism efforts.
