CA Retired Teachers

California Retried Teachers North County Scholarship Foundation is offering scholarships to high school seniors who intend to earn a degree in education.

Palomar Division 63, North San Diego County Division 45 and Avocado Division 81 join together in an effort to provide scholarships for deserving future teachers graduating from North San Diego County high schools.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, scholastic record, community services, work experience and letters of recommendation.

Applications are available at all North San Diego County high schools. Students should contact their counselor, career center or scholarship coordinator. Applications must be postmarked April 1.

Soroptimist International

Soroptimist International of Fallbrook is offering three scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing a higher education. The student must reside in the greater Fallbrook area, which includes Bonsall, Rainbow, De Luz and Pala.

A $2,000 educational scholarship will be awarded to a student who will be attending a four-year college or university. The recipient must carry a minimum of 12 units each semester to receive or continue to receive this scholarship. The scholarship will be disbursed in increments of $500 per semester for a total of $2,000.

A $1,000 junior college scholarship will be awarded to a student who will be attending a local junior college. This scholarship is intended to help cover educational expenses during their first year at a junior college. Recipient must carry a minimum of 12 units to receive or continue to receive this scholarship. The scholarship will be disbursed in increments of $500 per semester for a total of $1,000.

A $1,000 vocational scholarship will be awarded to a student who will be pursuing their education at a trade school or by taking trade-related courses at a community college. Auto mechanics, culinary arts, cosmetology and medical assisting are examples of studies that would qualify for this scholarship. The scholarship will be disbursed in increments of $500 per semester for a total of $1,000 if attending a community college; if attending a trade school, one payment of $1,000 shall be paid.

The scholarships require that an official school transcript from the most recent semester must be submitted with the application. Applications are available at the Fallbrook High School Career Counseling Center and at http://www.fallbrookhs.org.

Hospital Auxiliary

Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary is offering their annual scholarship program. Applicants must be residents of Fallbrook, Bonsall, Rainbow or De Luz.

Applications may be from any age group but must have an acceptance by an accredited college where healthcare-related curriculum is offered.

Prior scholarship winners are encouraged to apply again if they are still enrolled in healthcare studies and have maintained a good academic record.

Scholarship applications may be obtained at the Fallbrook High School counseling office or the Auxiliary Gift Shop inside Fallbrook Hospital, 624 West Elder Street in Fallbrook.
