All invited to organic potluck

Slow Foods and Fallbrook Organic Gardens invite the public to a garden potluck on Sunday, March 29, at 1 p.m. at the organic gardens of Ivy High School, 1056 Winterhaven Road.

The event will include a tour of the gardens as well as a good, old-fashioned potluck. Organizers hope participants will be inspired to make a dish that is locally produced (within a 100-mile radius), vegetarian and organic.

The Ivy campus has had an organic garden for 15 years and has 100 citrus trees and 30 garden beds. They are maintained by the students and teacher Sheri Ryan.

Slow Foods is a community of people who want to promote eating foods that are good for them, good for the growers and good for the planet.

All are invited and are asked to bring their own plates and utensils.
