FALLBROOK — As March 31 is the official state holiday recognizing the contributions of Cesar E. Chavez, the late labor and civil rights leader, Fallbrook will celebrate the legacy of Chavez on March 28 by conducting the Third Annual Fallbrook A Leer/Reading Family Literacy Day at Maie Ellis auditorium from 9 to 11 a.m.

The event encourages reading as a family activity. Research shows that children who are read to at home perform much better in their academics at school and are more likely to maintain a love of reading as a lifelong practice.
