Plans for Arts in the Park underway

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook and Bonsall PTA presidents held an Arts in the Park planning meeting at William Frazier school last week. Each year, the PTAs come together to assist Rally for Children, the local nonprofit that sponsors the festival at Live Oak Park.

“The parents are again working hard to come up with ideas that will excite the children,” says event co-chairman Kathy Gausepohl.

Fun projects such as butterfly magnets, sand painting, paper bag trees, pasta necklaces and other activities will be offered this year.

“The students attending Arts in the Park are always delighted to see their school represented, usually with colorful banners identifying their place in the park,” says Gausepohl. “The Fallbrook and Bonsall PTAs have been a strong partner with Rally for Children in making this free day of arts, crafts, music and fun such a huge success.”

This year the San Diego Natural History Museum will join the event with nature activities, including a little botany, entomology and geology.

Another first will be the Fallbrook Public Utility District offering a display, demonstration and craft for children to work on.

John Chamber of Game Puppeteers will present a world-famous puppet show that all the children enjoy.

On-stage performances will include martial arts, folklore, school choirs and other musical groups.

Local service organizations will offer concessions with all the favorite kid-friendly treats.

Arts in the Park will take place Sunday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Live Oak Park.

Free parking will be offered at Potter Jr. High, Live Oak School and Maie Ellis School with continuous shuttles to the park.
