Unite for the safety of our community

We are asking community members in Fallbrook, Bonsall, Rainbow and De Luz to help us unite for the safety of our communities. With the California State budget cuts, our citizens need to be aware that we are running the risk of losing our gang detectives and other resources that have taken us five years to acquire at the Fallbrook Sheriff Substation.

However, actions can be taken to help determine whether we continue to receive these critical tools to fight gangs, drugs and crime. Bonnie Dumanis, San Diego County District Attorney, will be the guest speaker at our crime prevention meeting. She will explain how tax cuts will impact law enforcement’s ability to monitor sex offenders, dangerous parolees and violent gangs after their release. This includes Internet sexual predators on MySpace, YouTube and Facebook.

We are encouraging all community members to attend the Fallbrook Citizens’ Crime Prevention Committee (FCCPC) meeting on March 31 at Zion Lutheran Church’s auditorium from 7 to 9 p.m. so your voice will be heard by San Diego Sheriff Bill Kolender.

If enough people show unity at this meeting, by their presence, and express their concern, the Sheriff’s Department will surely reconsider cutting our needed resources. This is your opportunity to be a part of taking action and helping to protect the safety of your community. Overflow parking is available at Fallbrook Presbyterian Church’s back parking lot.
