Book Talk features Community Read

FALLBROOK — The April Book Talk will celebrate Community Read Month with the selection of “Men to Match My Mountains: The Opening of the Far West, 1840-1900” by Irving Stone. The group discussion, led by Connie Forest, will be Thursday, April 9, at 1:30 p.m.

Stone, an acclaimed author of biographical and historical fiction, gives the reader America’s most colorful and exciting story in an unforgettable pageant of giants like John Sutter, Brigham Young and the miners who developed Nevada’s Comstock Lode and settled the Rockies.

Bill Coate, longtime friend of Stone and author/historian in his own right, will be the featured speaker at the Friends of the Fallbrook Library annual luncheon on Friday, April 24, at Pala Mesa Resort. Book Talk, sponsored by Friends of the Fallbrook Library, meets the second Thursday of the month (September through June) from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the FPUD community room.
