Spring brings pancake breakfast, egg hunt

Once again, the Fallbrook Community Center is putting on its annual Pancake Breakfast and Spring Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 11.

Approximately ten North County firefighters, three reserves and eight Explorer Scouts will start the event by cooking and serving the pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the center.

The Fallbrook Firefighters Association, which has been doing the breakfast for almost 20 years, is planning for more than 300 breakfasts, which include pancakes, ham, orange juice and milk.

The cost for the breakfast is $2 per child (12 years and under) and $4 per adult. All proceeds go to the community center.

After breakfast, families can head over to La Paloma School’s sports field, where the free Spring Egg Hunt will be held.

Starting at 10:30 a.m., egg hunts will be held for three different age groups: 5- and 6-year-olds, 7- and 8-year-olds and 9-, 10- and 11-year-olds.

This year, the 2- to 4-year-olds will have their own game booth and visit with the Easter Bunny instead of an egg hunt.

Members of National Charity League are helping to prepare 2,000 eggs and more surprises for the children.
