Angel Appreciation Day planned for October

Boy Scout Troop 739 members (from left) Travis Lemke, 14; Daniel Witzel, 16; Matt Witzel, 22; and Devon Rojas, 13, helped install new landscaping and irrigation at the Angel Shop on South Main Avenue this summer. Daniel, an Eagle Scout candidate who spearheaded the project, will be recognized for his contribution at the upcoming Angel Appreciation Day.

FALLBROOK — Since its inception in 1978, the Angel Society of Fallbrook has raised upwards of $2.6 million for local charities and community projects largely through the operation of its volunteer-run thrift shop.

In recognition of its many volunteers and those organizations that have benefitted from their efforts, a special Angel Appreciation Day will be held on Saturday, October 17.

The event will start at 10 a.m. at the Angel Shop with a presentation led by newly elected President Gloria Seelye honoring the hundreds of volunteers whose efforts have made possible the organization’s...
