Marine welcomed home with special sign

FALLBROOK — When Lance Cpl. Josh Wallis, 21, arrived back in Fallbrook on August 23 after a seven-and-a-half-month deployment with the 31st MIEU, a big, brightly colored ‘Welcome Home’ sign was waiting to honor his return.

Wallis’ recent deployment was to Korea, Thailand, the Philippines and Australia. He served in Iraq in a previous deployment.

Originally from Arkansas, Wallis is stationed at Camp Pendleton and currently lives in Fallbrook. He recently became engaged to Rachel Johnson of Fallbrook.

The giant sign that welcomed him home was rented and delivered from Yard Greetings Unlimited, a local business that prepares signs for all occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, congratulations and more.
